Fallout 4 the long road3/24/2023 "Long Road Ahead" will be finally be completed when the player returns to Goodneighbor and delivers the cure to Daisy, a ghoul merchant and the one individual MacCready trusts to get this to Duncan on time. When finding the cure MacCready is grateful for the help of the Sole Survivor and the two realize that this was done out of friendship, not for business. It will take plenty of ammo to get through the feral ghouls inside the area before finally finding the cure called Prevent on an operating table in a room full of human bones. Once the top floor has been reached, go to the terminal and enter the passcode given by Sinclair, which allows the sublevel of the building to open. When finding the abandoned Med-Tek Research, there's first a series of feral ghouls that will have to be taken out. Winlock and Barnes are present and will need to be killed to complete this part of the task. Plenty of guns and ammo will be required to survive this attack against a group of Gunners along with Assaultrons, Turrets and a Gunner who will try to get into a suit of Power Armor. However, another elevator to the north will lead to yet another elevator that takes the player to the overpass's northern entrance, allowing for a stealth attack on the camp instead. This particular elevator will lead the player and MacCready right in the middle of Gunner camp and they will be fired upon right away. Once the ground-level Gunners are cleared, the player will find a shack with the elevator leading to the overpass. The mission begins on the ground underneath the overpass road, so the player and MacCready have to sneak up and kill a few Gunners at guard stations. The location is not easy to find as it's virtually in the middle of nowhere and west of Vault 81. This begins the companion quest titled "Long Road Ahead," which begins by traveling to the Mass Pike Interchange to kill the two Gunners. MacCready considers buying them off, but he and the player eventually conclude that they have to kill them. He explains that through his mercenary services, he's been desperate for work and earning caps throughout Goodneighbor, but Winlock and Barnes have been interfering with his business and costing him caps. Once he reaches an affinity rating between 250 and 500, he will reveal some of his backstory. While traveling with MacCready, he's all-business, only concerned about himself and getting paid. His first offer is 250 caps, but the player can lower the price for his services if they have enough Charisma. I’ve tried it again and in one case, it worked, in another case, it didn’t but brought most of the scrapped things back, so it’s like always: trial and error.MacCready tells the player they can hire him on as a sharpshooter companion. This procedure can help to get along the LOD-issue, since setting it to =0 lets you scrap more things, but you are messing with the surrounding meshes and objects and this is causing the LOD, while changing it back to =1 will stop it. To scrap the maximum objects, you should add bUseCombinedObjects=0 to your ini file and AFTER you are finished running around scrapping things, you should save, leave the game, change the setting to bUseCombinedObjects=1 and start building. On the additional pictures, you can see how much more space it gives, while the blue and orange lines are indicating the new borders, while the green lines are showing the vanilla borders. I kept the other road outside since Traders and Provisioners are using that one a lot. ![]() This gives a little bit more space along the long road and to the hillside, but a lot more in front, at the huge ad and where the bus is. Those trees, the trash and the corner of that junk fence no can be scrapped – one picture is showing my actual border, the other one (with the red lines) is showing how far you could go, if you want to.Īs promised, I have uploaded a second version, making use of the whole but unused vanilla zone ! Myself, I was always annoyed by that corner at the small road, leading up to the Drumlin Diner, since it made it impossible to build a clean and seamless wall, not to mention that you had to do some overlapping and that especiall Trashcan Carlas Brahmin, which seems to be the stupidest of them all, always got stuck at that corner. ![]() Now, this is history – you can extend the border to the south-west to remove all those junk fences and some trees, that lamppost, that made it impossible to max out and build in a 90 degree to the smal road. Starlight Drive-In usually is big enough to build whatever you want, but a lot of people are annoyed by those junk fences between the long road and the build-zone, as well as that fence at the corner to the other road, since very often, those Trader-Brahmin get stuck at exactly that corner. Starlight Drive-In – adjusted and a little bit expanded
